Wannabe McAloo Tikki and Another MeMe

I really hope that there is someone out there who agrees with me, but isn’t McDonald’s in India ten times better than the McDonald’s in the States? The McAloo Tikki’s and those paneer wraps, so wonderful! Vegetarian options at McDonalds in the States consist of french fries and salads, and….that’s it. We recently just planned another visit to India for August and ever since then, I have been dreaming of Indian McDonald’s.

So…

While wondering what to make for dinner last night, I was checking out the histories of some of my favorite blogs and I came across a recipe that I had bookmarked back in May. Arundathi of Arundathi’s Food Blog made these mouth watering vegetable cutlets and it just seemed like the perfect thing to make, seeing that I had all the ingredients for it. It also reminded me of the McAloo Tikki Sandwiches served at McDonalds in India! I followed Arundathi’s recipe, except instead of adding carrots and beans, I had a bag of mixed vegetables (peas, green beans, carrots, corn) in the freezer and used those instead. I also threw in some diced green chili.

I ate mine with a fork and lots of Maggi Hot and Sweet. My husband ate his smashed on a piece of toast with Maggi and pickle. They were a big hit! My cutlets definitely do not look as wonderful as Arundathi’s, but they were darn tasty.
